Magnetic calculator

This magnetic calculator allows you to find the magnetic strength of a given neodymium magnet.

The magnetic calculator has been developed exclusively for neodymium magnets in the form of discs and blocks / grade 35.

You will also find it possible to compare the strengths of two different magnets by means of the two separate input forms.

Reservations:

  • All results must be used with reservations and deviations up to +-20% can occur in the magnetic strengths compared to experimental measurements. Large deviations can occur when measuring the force of block magnets
  • Producing magnets that are completely identical is almost impossible. Therefore, deviations will occur for the Remanence Br
  • The attraction of a magnet and a certain magnetisable material depend on the specifications of that material. Different suppliers will use different materials for testing the strengths
  • The attraction of a magnet and a certain magnetisable material depend on the thickness of the material as well as other geometric specifications resulting in possible deviations in the meassurements
  • The attraction of a magnet and a certain magnetisable material depend on the degree of the polished surfaces
  • Experimental measurements can provide results that deviate from the results given in these theoretical measurements due to the different methods of measuring
  • It must be underlined that this magnetic calculator has been developed exclusively as a guidance and as an indication of a given magnetic force. The results will not be directly comparable with the experimental results that often form the basis for most neodymium magnets
  • The magnetic calculator does not apply to diametrically magnetized disc magnets
